Sean Suen fall/winter 2016 menswear collection ( by GQ China ) presented during Parisian Men’s fashion week. Discover the full collection below. Launched in Beijing 2012,  SEAN SUEN design is guided and influenced by three key principles, with each garment defined and characterised as amusing, dynamic and chic. Sean Suen takes a unique perspective towards his work, as each individual piece is treated as a small project. With garments intricately layered with mixed fabrics and contrasting cuts, the collection focuses on stylish and functional silhouettes. This Autumn / Winter 2016, SEAN SUEN shows the connection between him and the other self in the parallel world, drawing on inspirations of Chinese chess. SEAN SUEN brings his collection to life playing with the opposites. Like within the chessboard, where it’s not only about two sides against each other, it’s also about the communication between you and your opponent, history and reality, cultures of east and west. The collection shows a collision between insistence and compromise, reflected by the criss-cross on the garments , following the pattern of the chessboard.
Round metal pieces studding on the apparels symbolise the antique idea that Earth was square and Heaven was round. Other pieces take the appearance of Chinese chess pieces which should move according to different rules with imagination and creation which indicates the various paths in life. +
